The Children of Atom are automatically hostile in some areas, the only place where they're NOT hostile, is the Crater of Atom, and that bunker. As soon as you see them put the hazmat suit on. They can't kill you for crap then. :) But the blasts of those guns are annoying and mess with being able to see them.
